A well-made garment is an investment not only in how you look, but in how long it lasts. The way you care for each piece determines whether it remains extraordinary for one season or for twenty years.

Silk

Delicate  ·  Lustrous

Hand-wash in cool water with a gentle, pH-neutral detergent. Never wring press between clean towels and hang on a padded hanger to dry away from direct sunlight. Steam lightly rather than ironing directly; always use a pressing cloth.

Linen

Breathable  ·  Structured

Machine wash on a cool, delicate cycle or hand-wash. Reshape while damp and dry flat or on a hanger. Iron on a medium setting while still slightly damp to restore crispness. Linen softens beautifully with each wash embrace it.

Cashmere & Wool

Precious  ·  Insulating

Hand-wash in cold water only, supporting the full weight of the garment. Never hang to dry lay flat on a clean towel. Store folded, never on a hanger, to prevent shoulder stretch. Pill with a fabric comb, not a razor.

Satin & Duchess

Formal  ·  Reflective

Dry clean only for structured pieces. For lighter satin, hand-wash gently and roll never twist in a towel. Iron on the reverse side at a very low setting; the face of satin marks easily. Store in a breathable garment bag.

✓ Always

  • ✓  Read the care label before the first wash
  • ✓  Air garments after wearing before storing
  • ✓  Use a steamer over direct heat for most fabrics
  • ✓  Store in breathable cotton or linen bags
  • ✓  Treat stains immediately and gently

✗ Never

  • ✗  Tumble dry any luxury fabric
  • ✗  Hang knits they stretch permanently
  • ✗  Use bleach or harsh detergents on delicates
  • ✗  Iron directly on silk or satin
  • ✗  Store in plastic it traps moisture

Hanging pieces

Use wide, padded or wooden hangers to preserve shoulder shape. Keep garments spaced so fabrics can breathe.

Folded knitwear

Fold along seams and stack loosely. Add cedar blocks nearby never mothballs, which can discolour fibres.

Light and heat

Store away from direct sunlight and radiators. Prolonged exposure fades colour and weakens fibres over time.
